“The natural person (carnal Christian) does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are folly to him, and he is not able to understand them because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Corinthians 2:14, ESV)

Numerous Christians complain that God has made it very difficult to hear Him, even after decades of being born again. However, this is not true.

The fault lies with Christians who have failed to be spiritually aligned with God, but who are controlled by the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh and the pride of life. Let us remember that these same Christians learned to hear their parents as toddlers by being physically and intellectually aligned by repetition of words and gestures. So why would Abba Father make it difficult when He constantly gives counsel and instructions?

The reasons Christians find have made it impossible include:

  • Christians refuse to be trained or do not see the need for teaching and training to hear God. As a matter of fact, there are ministers who preach that Christians do not need to be trained. However, Young Samuel was trained by Prophet Eli in 1Samuel 3:1-14
  • The Christian has a lifestyle that has little time for His Creator and Father because of the pursuit of the material world ….consequently has no revelation of the agape love of God and His beautiful thoughts to bless supernaturally..
  • The heart of numerous Christians is hardened against God, so that when God speaks, the devil comes immediately to steal the word. Such hearts must be repaired to love and be under the control of Holy Spirit.
  • Christians lacking spiritual understanding for unravelling the content of God word when He speaks in diverse manners. Spiritual truths must be unravelled for decisive action.
  • Christians who live carnal life cannot hear God …because hearing God is predominantly …Spirit to spirit ..and communication is terminated in a Spirit to flesh situation. Satan takes advantage of the weaknesses of the flesh.
  • Christians who have  underdeveloped their spiritual capacity can only fall back on intellectual reasoning and worldly wisdom.

If you belong to this group of carnal Christians, I will counsel to migrate to a spiritual lifestyle.
